Keep plastics auxiliaries with a machine when the proposed package is identified, owned by the seller and useful as a coherent arrangement. Consider separate lots when the equipment has a clear independent identity or serves several machines.

The decision depends on what each unit does. A hopper, a loader, a dryer and a dosing unit are not interchangeable descriptions for the equipment above a moulding machine.

Identify the roles first

A hopper holds material. A loader supplies material to a destination. Drying equipment conditions the material through its documented process, while a dosing unit meters components into the feed. Some products combine roles; others depend on a central system.

Motan's LUXOR A system provides an example of separate dry-air generators and material bins, with integrated conveying and networked controls available. A bin beside a machine may therefore be only part of the drying arrangement.

Motan's GRAVICOLOR 310/610 information describes gravimetric batch dosing and mixing for plastics processes. Record the exact dosing technology and model. Do not relabel a unit as gravimetric because it has a digital display, or assume it includes every hopper shown in a brochure.

Make a compatibility and allocation map

Use equipment identities and documented associations. The map is for sale planning; a specialist must assess technical compatibility.

Auxiliary ID Documented role Machine or system served Dependency to resolve Proposed allocation
Dryer A Dry-air source Bins B and C Shared control and air connections Assess as a system
Bin B Material drying bin Moulding machine1 Depends on Dryer A Decision pending
Loader D Material conveying Bin B Control and source connection Match to agreed package
Dosing unit E Identified dosing method Machine 1 Included hoppers and controller Assess with machine
Spare unit F Documented independent unit Stored surplus Completeness and condition Assess separately

Replace these hypothetical rows with the actual arrangement. Photograph the plates and label the connections in the records through competent staff. Do not disconnect equipment to test whether it works alone.

The injection moulding machine description should reference the agreed auxiliaries explicitly. For an extrusion line, place them on the process-boundary map so the same shared unit is not promised to two buyers.

Compare three sale cases

A dedicated, documented group serving one machine may be easiest to explain as part of that package. The buyer can see the intended relationship, although they still need to assess condition and their own material requirements.

A central dryer serving several machines needs a wider decision. Selling one bin without explaining its dependency could leave the buyer with an incomplete arrangement. Selling the central dryer too early could affect retained production. Ask the specialist and sale organiser to assess a complete system offer or clearly bounded separate offers.

An unused standalone auxiliary can be considered separately once its configuration is established. Its proximity to a machine in the stores area is not evidence that it belongs to that machine.

Compare seller obligations as well as likely demand. A separate lot can be commercially reasonable, but only if the description and preparation scope are clear.

Include the less visible history

Record previous material use where relevant, maintenance information and known changes. For regrind arrangements linked to a granulator or shredder, identify the material route and any history gaps. The buyer should know whether the dosing arrangement handled virgin material, recovered material or documented mixtures.

Keep product recipes and customer information subject to the owner's permission. A controller may store useful settings, but their presence does not establish permission to transfer them or suitability for a new job.

A process chiller may support the same production area while remaining a separate service package. Record its relationship and ownership without treating it as part of the material-handling equipment.

Send UK Auction Group the map and photographs when planning the sale. State which units are dedicated, shared or stored surplus, and which connections need specialist review.

The manufacturing and process-equipment guide covers the machines these auxiliaries support.
